My All-Women Working Team
I made a conscious effort to take on women who hadn’t necessarily worked in the food business or had a food qualification. What I wanted is women who are strong, can multi-task, and had a wealth of experience of cooking for big families. Different types of women that would thrive given the opportunity.
It’s about creating a culture that really enriches them and allows them to display their strengths and best talents. It is about creating a community and connection and inspiring one another to do the best with the skills that they have.
I simply cannot take all the credit for my business. Shazia’s Street Food wouldn’t be successful without being surrounded and supported by talented women who have the same core values as me.
These women work with such pride as I lead, create and provide a vision for them.
Something that has always been within me is that the energy and spiritual state that we are in gets transferred into anything that we do. Therefore be in good energy and the food becomes light to those who eat.
Looking After Planet Earth
We have a moral duty to do the right thing. We must take our responsibility seriously and from day one of opening our business I made a conscious effort to ensure that all our packaging was made from plants using renewable, lower carbon, recycled or reclaimed materials!
What’s important to me as a business is how we make our money and not how much money we make.
